The Chess Empire is proud to presents you the reproduction of one of the Circa1855 Anderssen Series 4.4” chess set. There were many variations in Anderssen series chess set 1855-60 including Drop Jaw. From 1855 or so to early 1860, there are varieties knights with the gaping mouth by Jaques.It is possible that these are derived from actual examples in the British Museum as isolated classical heads similar to the Jaques style.

The Chess set is heavily weighted with the natural hand polish on individual chess piece for rich, long lasting shine and it also includes two extra queens.
